About Hyundai xteer Abbreviation for ‘Extreme Steering’, which means ‘engine oil for the optimum driving condition’ HD Hyundai Oilbank is continuously expanding the sales network for ‘HYUNDAI XTeer’, ranging from gas stations, automobile repair shops to large marts to get closer to customers. The Company has launched a fuel additive brand ‘HYUNDAI XTeer Alpha’, which reflects customer needs. HD Hyundai Oilbank has strengthened price competitiveness in the oil refining sector by continuous improvement of upgrading facilities with the purpose to place more importance on production of high value-added oil products and stabilized profits by business diversification into petrochemical business, base oil/lubricant business and oil storage business. In 2014, HYUNDAI and SHELL Base Oil,the joint venture established collaboratively by HD Hyundai Oilbank and a global energy firm SHELL, completed the construction of a base oil plant. Constructed on 46,000m2 wide site in Daesan refinery, this plant produces high-quality base oil products amounting to 650,000 tons annually by using 20,000 barrels of well-refined raw materials a day. Significant amount of these products are exported, contributing to the diversification of the company’s profit structure, while some of these products are used as raw materials of HYUNDAI XTeer, the premium lubricant brand of HD Hyundai Oilbank.
